Not usually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What people often call an \u201cearwig bite\u201d is actually a pinch from its rear pincers<\/strong>. Earwigs may pinch when they’re trapped, handled or pressed against someone’s skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pinch can hurt and may occasionally leave a small red mark, but earwigs are not venomous and are generally considered harmless to people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the skin was broken, gently wash the area with soap and water and keep it clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
