At first glance, the object in the photo looks like something out of a horror movie. But the image appears to show an insect undergoing or having recently completed a molt<\/strong>, rather than an unusual \u201cegg monster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exact species cannot be confirmed from this photo alone<\/strong>, but the body shape and visible appendages are consistent with a cockroach or cockroach relative. Cockroaches shed their outer exoskeleton several times as they grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
