Friend & cousin.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then someone noticed something hidden in plain sight. \ud83d\udc40<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take the first letter of every line and read them from top to bottom:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn’t an accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The headstone belonged to Steven Paul Owens<\/strong>, an Iowa man who died in September 2021 at the age of 59. His family deliberately designed the inscription as a hidden joke that reflected his personality and sense of humor. East Idaho News<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So for the family, the hidden message wasn’t intended as an insult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was their personal way of remembering their dad exactly as he was.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy began when cemetery officials objected to the hidden profanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family said the cemetery trustees had rejected the design before installation, but the monument was ultimately installed anyway in May 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials argued that profanity had no place in a shared cemetery and discussed possible action to have the headstone removed. East Idaho News<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family, however, defended the memorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
